Patricia Doucette

The members at Fit for Life can choose who they feel should be the member of the month. Patricia Doucette received the most votes for Member of the Month in January!

Patricia, is an absolute joy to have as a member. Anyone who has the pleasure of being in class with her or even a quick interaction will tell you she always has a smile on her face:) She still smiles even through a tough workout! 

Provided below are Patricia's thoughts:

What do you like about Fit for Life?
"What I like about Fit for Life is how comfortable I feel there, the different choices for classes, you and the girls how you guys encourage us to push ourselves and I don't feel judged. You all make me smile. I enjoy the other members and how we help each other it's just a feel good place."

What is your favorite class?
"My favorite class is Fit and Fab and Kettlebell, but Pound is getting there also it's hard to choose."

Why did you choose Fit for Life?
"I chose Fit for Life because of the amount of classes because I need that I'm not so good at pushing myself it's easier to give up when I exercise alone. I do love the fact it's women only."

What are your goals?
"My goals are to firm up all over be fit enough to keep my mobility which I had noticed was getting bad. I use to have a hard time to get out of the car when we travel, now that is not a problem. It's also for my mental health I just feel so much better. I feel I have a spring in my step now thank you."

What would you say to anyone debating joining Fit for Life?
"You should go in and try a class or two to see how great the instructors are and how the classes can be modified to accommodate everyone no matter what your fitness level. The other members are so helpful and nice."

Any comments?
"I truly love coming to the gym, everyone staff and members make it great for me. For the first time ever I don't feel the need for a gym buddy to get me to classes. Thank you to you and the greatest instructors I have the pleasure of being taught by you all rock."

Felicia Abbass

Felicia was at the gym today and words can not express how happy I was to see her! Nothing will stop this woman from reaching her goal! She is such an inspiration to many women and I am so happy that she chose Fit for Life as the place to continue her life in health and fitness.

The pictures say it all.....Felicia told me today that this time last year she couldn't even zipper her jacket....now she can fit another person in it with her:) Check out her smile....how happy is she?!?!

Felicia started her health and fitness journey with Fit for Life one year ago and I couldn't be any more proud of her....she is doing AMAZING!

​Member of the Month...Debbie McNeil

We have so many wonderful members at Fit for Life and as a result we would like to acknowledge the contribution they make to our Women's Health and Fitness Club:)

Debbie McNeil has been a member of Fit for Life since December 2015. She exercises on a regular basis, great sport, has the most positive attitude and is very committed! 

In all honesty I have never seen her not smile....she is kind, goes above and beyond for other members and gives 150% when exercising. She never saids "I can't do it" instead she will try and give it her all! 

Debbie, you are an absolute pleasure to be around....love your positive attitude and most of all that you decided to be a member at Fit for Life! 

We thought you might want to hear Debbie's thoughts....

1. What do you like about Fit for Life? "The feeling of belonging! The staff care about your needs, we are important to them. The members are so encouraging. I love how everybody (staff and members) celebrate successes, are always encouraging, and take note and tell you you have done a good job. It is a very positive atmosphere! I can be having the worst day, but when I come through the door to all the "Hello" and "How was your day" greetings, you can not help but smile."

2. What is your favorite class? "Hardest question you could ask me. There has not been a class I don't like! With such a large number and variety of classes, there is a work out for your Mind, Body and Soul."

3. Why did you choose Fit for Life? "I started following Darlene's posts last fall. Her enthusiasm about opening Fit for Life made me want to be a part of this new gym! I joined the day of her open house, you could feel the positive energy from everyone. I had a great chat with Darlene's mom that day. She was excited for Darlene and so proud of her. I knew that this was going to be a good fit for me. I wasn't wrong...it is like a big family!"

4. What are your goals? "To be the best me I can be. Most of my life I was very heavy, inactive, I have never felt better and I am doing things in class that I never imagined I could do. I will keep moving forward, keep getting stronger and healthier."

5. What would you say to anyone debating joining Fit for Life? "Do It! There is something for everyone at Fit for Life. You never feel like you can not do something because the instructors help you find a way for your body to do it. Whether it is a bad back, bad knee, they are there to help. Fit for Life has a positive atmosphere. No one judges, everyone wants the best for you and we celebrate our successes."

6. Any comments? "Ladies, on a personal note, thank you. I cried all the way home LOL. You have given this 55 year old former couch potatoe a whole new outlook. This past year has been amazing. Thank you so much, you give me confidence and courage everyday."

Cynthia Colburne

Picture on the right is of Cynthia summer of 2016, right before joining Fit for Life. Picture on the left is her today! Cynthia says "I'm so happy to be starting this new year feeling healthier and happier. Not only did I lose weight but I made some great friends along the way. Thank you Charlotte and the rest of the girls at Fit for Life for kicking my butt many times and pushing me to be a stronger me"

Amanda MacKinnon

Amanda MacKinnon took part in the 5 week Fit for the Holidays challenge in December (the first group of pics were from December). She then took part in the 6 week New Year New You Challenge that started in January and ended last week. In only 11 weeks she lost 26 lbs and 16.5 inches! As you can see from the pics below she still had amazing results from the second challenge.

Amanda told me that she hasn't been able to wear her pink Lulu Lemon shirt since 2013 and now she can! She feels amazing being able to fit in clothes that she hasn't been able to fit in for years:)

Like most of you Amanda has a busy life....she has 2 small children, full time job, etc.....However, she still makes time for exercising and taking the time to prep healthy meals.
